Join us for our networking & ideation sandpit event, to develop research proposal ideas to submit to IMSE for developmental support. The aim of this session is to generate cross-disciplinary grant proposals for submission to external funding opportunities. IMSE will provide funding for cross-departmental teams, primarily to cover postdoc time to write the proposal, with the potential for limited consumables funding for proof-of-concept studies.

Event programme:

• 9.30-10.00 – arrival & coffee
• 10.00 – sandpit event: call information and Q&A; quick-fire introductions; proposal pitching; break-out ideation discussions
• 12.00-13.00 – networking lunch

We invite proposals on any cross-disciplinary challenge aligned to IMSE’s research strategy: transdisciplinary research, molecular-level science with engineering aspects to address global challenges.  For example (but not limited to): green plastics & sustainable fabrics; waste as a resource; formulations for health and sustainability; technologies to reduce carbon emissions; low cost, green energy technologies; science and engineering for cultural heritage; future manufacturing systems; smart surfaces to tackle microbes; wearable tech for health & wellbeing.
