DML’s highly skilled staff are further trained in our own detailed and rigorous processes that have been developed for HE content, cross-functional collaboration and scaled production.  Identifying and capitalizing on skill synergies, our Camera Operators also capture motion and sample spaces and objects, Motion Graphic Designers also design XR user interfaces, our Producers are also casting directors and our Editors also design ambisonic audio.

    Daniel Mitelpunkt Director of Digital Media Lab

    Introduction

    As Director of the DML, Daniel has overall responsibility for strategy, operations, creative direction and R&D. As Imperial College London’s senior applied media officer, he leads on institute-wide policy and planning in this area. Prior to setting up media capabilities for the university, he worked as Executive Producer in issues-based and healthcare filmed content for multinational corporations, NGOs and universities.

    Nikos Mexis Facilities and Solutions lead

    Introduction

    Nikos is DML's overall technical and solutions lead, overseeing team managers in both time-based and interactive media. He also leads on design and development of DML facilities, workflows and R&D. Nikos’ background is in Cinematography, working as Director of Photography.

    Introduction

    Robyn is responsible for both DML's operations and Production team. Her background is in higher education and digital education operations and strategy, prior to which she worked in executive search and recruitment for high growth and start up companies.

    Sarah supports DML’s operations, facilities and administration, as well as working with the Operations Lead on programme and project coordination. Her experience lies in higher education, lecturing and course coordination, as well as project management, and producing media content for start-ups, studios and other private businesses.

    Introduction

    Catalina's work involves overseeing end-to-end processes for various media production projects at DML (ranging from learning media, promo videos, documentaries, XR to interactive media) alongside other department producers. With a background in film production and directing, she is passionate about film development and occasionally takes on directing roles.

    Introduction

    Esmee coordinates commissioned projects across different faculties through all stages in production - from scoping to final delivery alongside other department producers. Her background is in content and media production in both academic and industry environments.

    Muhammed's work is on planning and delivering of a variety of multimedia projects alongside other department producers which requires both project management and technical knowledge.     Thomas is responsible for managing facilities, maintaining the asset management library, developing motion capture solutions and striving for cutting edge capture techniques to improve asynchronous learning. Thomas's extensive background focuses on working in the Feature and TV Industry.

    Kieran supports the technical elements on studio and location shoots, and maintaining filming equipment and department facilities. His background is as a camera operator in the commercial and documentary field.

    Alex Papathanasiou Camera Operator

    Introduction

    Alex supports the recording on studio and location alongside the other department camera operators, maintaining all equipment and facilities. Alex comes from a documentary and broadcast background while he continues to make his own independent documentary projects up to this date.

    Introduction

    Philip supports the media recordings both in our studios and on location, including 360˚ interactive videos, together with maintaining all media capture equipment and facilities. Phil is our  our CAA certified Drone Pilot with a background in broadcast film and television

    Introduction

    Giampaolo manages post production processes and deliveries at the DML as well as continuously exploring new cutting-edge technology with a keen eye on R&D. Before his role at DML, he worked as a freelance videographer in hospitality, advertisement, music, education for over a decade.

    Jorge oversees the DML's time-base media post production workflows for Editors and Motion Graphics Designers. His extensive background lies in filmmaking (from commercials adverts, tv animations and documentaries) to lecturing in Higher Education Institutes.

    Introduction

    Tiziana is a Motion Graphics Designer at DML. She brings a background in art and animation in video editing and illustration. She previously worked with conceptual artists and had work shown at Frieze and The Biennale.

    Peter supports the design of a wide variety of dynamic assets (including iconography, templates, infographics, and animated videos), with recent work in UI/UX design to create enhanced user experiences for interactive media. His background lies in the private sector, where he worked freelance prior to joining the DML.
